Oregon became the first state to legalize regulated therapeutic psilocybin services through Measure 109, passed in November 2020. Licensed psilocybin service centers began operating in 2023, allowing adults 21+ to receive psilocybin sessions under the supervision of a licensed facilitator. Psilocybin mushrooms remain illegal for general personal use outside the licensed therapeutic framework.
